Justice Manik attacked in London

LONDON: Some miscreants attacked Justice AHM Shamsuddin Chowdhury Manik at Gail Street in Dagenham area in London on Wednesday night.
The victim confirmed it to banglanews.
Justice Manik told banglanews that an unidentified youth intercepted him at Gail Street at 8:30 pm (London local time). After confirming about his identity, another two to three youths got down from a parked car and joined the previous one.
“Sensing the attempt to attack, I started screaming. At one stage, one of the youths hit in my head and waist and managed to flee the scene,” he added.
Later, he entered his London residence near the Gail Street as he was not injured critically. Many of his well-wishers visited him after the news spread, sources said.
Recently, the HC justice was criticised by political leaders over his remark on Parliament speaker. Lastly, Speaker Abdul Hamid has issued a ruling accusing a High Court judge of violating the constitution.
The speaker urged the Chief Justice to take steps in this regard to such behaviour by a court and he hoped that the step will prevent a recurrence of such incidents.
